Macintosh Laryngoscope Blades, Conventional LED (GA 101)

GERATI Macintosh laryngoscope blades are reusable, curved conventional blades for direct laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation. They are made from AISI 304 stainless steel, fitted with an LED lamp, and available in seven sizes from 00 to 5. Each blade has a standard hook-on fitting to ISO 7376, so it fits GERATI conventional handles and other conventional hook-on handles.

Manufactured by GERATI Healthcare in Sialkot, Pakistan, under an ISO 13485 quality system. CE marked, Class I. Available under your own brand through our OEM and private label programme.

How the Macintosh blade works

The Macintosh is a curved blade. Its tip is placed in the vallecula, the space between the base of the tongue and the epiglottis. Lifting the handle raises the epiglottis indirectly and brings the vocal cords into view. It is the most widely used blade pattern for adult intubation. Frequently asked questions

Which Macintosh blade size is used for adults?
Mac 3 is the most common adult size and Mac 4 is used for larger adults. Mac 5 is available for very large adults.

Will these blades fit my existing handles?
Yes, if your handles are conventional hook-on handles. The fitting follows the dimensions in ISO 7376. We recommend testing a sample with your equipment.

Can the blades be autoclaved?
Yes. Steam sterilization up to 134 °C, after removing the lamp.

What is the difference between conventional and fiber optic blades?
Conventional blades carry the lamp on the blade. Fiber optic blades have the lamp in the handle and carry the light through a fiber bundle, with no electrical parts in the blade.
