The GERATI Ref. 11-010 is an intraligamentary dental syringe for intra-ligamentary (periodontal ligament) anaesthesia. It delivers local anaesthetic directly into the ligament space of a single tooth, giving localised pain control without anaesthetising a wide area. The syringe is available with a straight or a curved barrel, plus a reserve cartridge holder for fast exchange during treatment.

Clinical use

The instrument is used for intra-ligamentary (PDL) anaesthesia during restorative and extraction procedures. A lever mechanism generates the pressure needed to deliver anaesthetic into the dense periodontal ligament tissue in small, controlled amounts. The curved barrel improves access to posterior teeth and awkward angles.

Construction and materials

The syringe is made of surgical-grade stainless steel (AISI 303/304) with a mirror finish. The steel resists corrosion and withstands repeated autoclave sterilisation without mechanical degradation. It is designed for standard 1.8 ml dental anaesthetic cartridges, is reusable, and is autoclavable at 134 °C (2 bar). A reserve (spare) cartridge holder lets a second barrel be pre-loaded and exchanged during a procedure.
